Hy-Vee

Today we had our field trip to Hy-Vee! We got to go through the bakery and see where they make the bread, donuts, cookies and cakes. We then got to see one of the cake decorators make icing roses, she then made a rose for every kid to put on their own cookies! We then got to meet with Hy-Vee's dietitian who talked to us about apples and how to make some healthy apple treats. We got to try some apple cider and dried apples. We then made some apple crisp applesauce with apple pie spice, granola and apple sauce. We also got to make apple "donuts" with apple slices, peanut butter and sprinkles! The kids really enjoyed all of the yummy snacks! The kids brought their cookies back to the center with us to take home!
